Spring Roundup – Kerrville Texas

A couple weekends ago, I got to spend time at one of my most favorite places with some of my favorite people.  Bandera Texas was calling my name as I was attending Hill Country CattleWomen’s annual scholarship fundraiser.  This event was held at the Y.O. Ranch in Kerrville Texas.  As I say all the time,” If you have never been here, you have to see it!”.  Breathtaking views with hills and valleys as far as the eye can see.

Y.O. Ranch Hotel and Convention is a beautiful place.  While our event took place in one of the ballrooms, the outside portion of this venue is spectacular. Every time that I have been here, there has been a wedding that has been taking place.  The Hill Country CattleWomen could not have picked a better spot for their fundraiser.

Walking into the hotel, the silent auction items were set up in the lobby.  This was really neat as you were able to walk through and look at all the great things that were donated for this stellar cause.  They had items ranging from wine baskets to outdoor patio furniture to jewelry to quilts.  These items gave the guests a lot of options of different things to bid on.

My favorite part of the night, had to be the live auction.  I am sure you have all been to an event that had an auctioneer, but this guy was pretty amazing.  He knew how to engage the crowd and keep the bidding going as well.  My favorite item on the list had to be the hunt in Africa.  I will be saving my pennies to go to this event next year in hopes to bid on this!

I also enjoyed the fellowship among all the people there.  It was fate that I was seated at my particular table for dinner.  I was able to connect with some ladies who used to be in CattleWomen, but their local chapter had disbanded.  Little did they know that there are other women in their area who are interested in starting a local chapter again! I was so excited to learn this and it makes my heart so happy to have women coming together for the same cause.

CattleWomen in the San Angelo area, be on the lookout for a Texas CattleWomen Informational that will be coming your way.  If you have any questions on how to get an Informational in your area or a Grilling 101, please feel free to reach out to me at caslmatzke@gmail.com.  I look forward to meeting more CattleWomen out there!
